27th February 2015
We started the week celebrating Chinese New Year and the year of the sheep. The nursery transformed into a Chinese-themed wonderland with decorative lanterns (many handmade by the children), an interactive object table, a traditional dragon dancers costume, some traditional Chinese music and much, much more. Our chopstick activity area proved very popular with the children, as did the lucky red envelopes.
During the latter part of the week, we began our Birds project. The children will be introduced to the life-cycle of a bird, learn about different species and even get the opportunity to make a birds nest during our arts and crafts sessions.
